Pine trees are prolific through New Zealand.
It’s difficult not to feel uplifted when you walk into a room with a real pine Christmas tree. It seems to clear the nostrils and the air.
Historically, pine has also been used for medicine. Both White Pine and Pinus Radiata are beneficial.
Pine contains Shikimic Acid which is thought to bind the spike protein in viruses. In fact, shikimic acid is used in Tamiflu for that purpose.
In the old days, parasites and worms were eliminated with a mixture of pine tar and beer. Sounds like fun to try, maybe?
Pine was historically used for upper and lower respiratory tract swelling (inflammation), stuffy nose, hoarseness, common cold, cough or bronchitis but not dry cough, flu, sore throats, fevers, tendency towards infection, blood pressure problems, lung conditions, infected urinary systems, wounds, sores, burns, boils, arthritis, joint pain and more. Some people apply pine directly to the skin for mild muscle and nerve pain.
And how easy is it to find??? Nature provides us with everything we need.
It’s not meant to be complicated to be well, nor is it meant to be expensive.
