Lettuce is a surprisingly useful and tasty herb.
It’s vitamin A rich, which can reduce risk of cataracts. Vitamin A also helps prevent macular degeneration.
The Egyptians didn't consider lettuce as food but rather as a medicinal plant. Lettuce is from the same family as opium poppies and produces a milky sap when cut that has historically been used as a painkiller and sedative.
Wild lettuce was used historically for whooping cough, asthma, urinary tract problems, cough, trouble sleeping (insomnia), restlessness, excitability in children, painful menstrual periods, excessive sex drive in women (nymphomania), muscular or joint pains, poor circulation, swollen genitals in men (priapism), and as an opium substitute.
So, eat more lettuce with dinner, perhaps, for a better sleep.
It’s not meant to be complicated to be well, nor is it meant to be expensive.
