Did you know about Sequential eating to calm the stomach?
Food doesn’t mix when we eat it. It layers in the stomach; in the order we eat it.
Different foods take different amounts of time to digest.
Raw foods, water and fish take up to only 20 minutes to digest while cooked veges can take up to 2 hours and chicken can take up to 4 hours. Red meat can take 4-6 hours.
Because your food layers, if you eat red meat first, then veges, the veges must wait for the red meat to digest before they can exit the stomach, so, the veges continue to digest and decay and start to ferment. This can cause that gurgling feeling after we have eaten, and indigestion.
The rule of thumb is to eat raw first, then cooked veges, then meat. It’s much gentler on the stomach and digestion.
