Boron (and magnesium) deficiency in people is very common in New Zealand due to the soils we grow our food in being deficient.
Boron is a micronutrient that is necessary for plant, animal, and human health, and as recent research suggests, possibly for the evolution of life on Earth.
Boron is proven to be essential for the growth and maintenance of bone, to greatly improve wound healing, to support the body’s use of oestrogen, testosterone, and vitamin D, to boosts magnesium absorption, to reduce levels of inflammatory biomarkers, to raise levels of antioxidant enzymes, to protect against pesticide-induced oxidative stress and heavy-metal toxicity, to improve the brains electrical activity, cognitive performance, and short-term memory, to support the formation and activity of key biomolecules, to support preventive and therapeutic effects in a number of cancers, and to support the adverse effects of modern chemotherapeutic agents.
Boron has traditionally been used for yeast infections and candida. It’s also been used for menstrual cramps and for radiation induced skin damage.
Some symptoms of boron deficiency include hyperthyroidism, imbalance of sex hormones, osteoporosis, arthritis, abnormalities in the function of the nervous system, decline of cognitive function, vaginal yeast infections, growing pain, and more.
It's thought that prune juice and avocados may contain high levels of boron.
Magnesium is also deficient in our soils and therefore in us. Yet we cannot regenerate without vitamin D and vitamin D remains dormant in the body until it’s activated by magnesium. Boron is believed to boost the half-life of vitamin D in the body, so, with added boosting from Boron, we can maximise regeneration.
Food for thought…..
Degenerative conditions such as arthritis and osteoporosis are caused by degeneration, and not age. Magnesium and Boron are the main minerals of regeneration. It’s thought that more than 80% of people are deficient. Magnesium and Boron deficiency may be the main cause of degeneration in most. While we are still alive, we never lose the ability to regenerate…we just need the right tools, and they may be magnesium and boron.
